About Norwalk Plumbing Care

A Norwalk company that answers its own phone

We are a small, locally staffed plumbing service company on the Norwalk side of southeast Los Angeles County. You call one number at any hour, describe what the house is doing, and we put a vetted, licensed and insured plumbing professional on the job, usually the same day.

Line answered 24/7 from our own office. Tell us the address and the symptom; that is the whole intake.

Who we are

Built in Norwalk, still run out of Norwalk

Norwalk Plumbing Care was started here in 2023, on a simple observation: when a pipe fails at 2am, a homeowner does not want a contact form and a callback window. They want a person who knows where Studebaker Road is, who knows what a 1955 tract slab does when the copper under it gives out, and who can say “someone will be there” and mean it.

So we built the company around that call. Our office is local and staffed around the clock. The plumbing professionals we work with are people we have watched on real jobs in these neighbourhoods, not names bought from a directory, and the ones who do not hold the standard do not stay on the list.

No out-of-state call centre. No sales script before you get to describe the problem. No mystery about who is coming or what it will cost.

The people you deal with

A small team, and you will speak to most of it

Three people carry the company day to day. All three are reachable on the same number, and the plumbing guidance published on this site is reviewed by Derek before it goes up.

Grant Ellison, Chief Executive of Norwalk Plumbing Care
Chief Executive

Grant Ellison

Grant runs the company, and the standard is his: reliable service, work done properly the first time, and a homeowner who is not left guessing. He oversees the team and the list of plumbing professionals, and every residential job in Norwalk is handled the way he would want his own handled.

Senior Plumbing Specialist

Derek Lawson

Derek is the trade knowledge in the building. Leak detection, blocked drains, water heaters, fixture repairs and the residential systems behind them, he has diagnosed all of it, and he is practical about it: find the actual fault, fix that, do not sell around it. The plumbing advice on this site goes past him before it is published.

Customer Relations Specialist

Cameron Brooks

Cameron is usually the voice on the other end of the line. He takes the details, books the visit, answers the questions people are slightly embarrassed to ask, sends the updates, and calls back after the work is done to check it held. Nothing about the process should be a mystery to you, and that is his job.

How a call runs

Four steps between your call and a plumber in the driveway

You call and describe it

Plain language is fine. “Water is coming up through the kitchen floor” tells us more than a service category ever would. We ask for the address, whether water is actively running, and whether you have found the shutoff.

We triage the urgency

A burst supply line and a slow-draining tub do not get the same answer. We tell you honestly whether this is a right-now job, a today job, or something that can wait until morning without getting worse.

We put the right plumber on it

We match the job to a professional who covers your part of Norwalk and carries the gear it needs, a camera and jetter for a sewer call, a leak locator and thermal camera for a slab call. You are told who is coming and a realistic window.

You get a price before work starts

The plumber diagnoses, explains what he found, and puts the price in writing before touching a wrench. You approve, or you do not. There is no charge for hearing the number.

The plumbing work itself is carried out by the independent licensed professional we place on your job. We stay your point of contact from the first call to the follow-up.

What we stand behind

The promises worth making are the boring ones

Every plumbing company in Los Angeles County claims quality workmanship. It is not a differentiator, it is table stakes. What homeowners actually complain about is different: the four-hour window that becomes eight, the quote that grows once the wall is open, the plumber who cannot explain what he did.

So the standards we enforce are the unglamorous ones. Show up when you said. Quote before you cut. Explain the failure in language the homeowner can repeat to their spouse. Leave the space cleaner than you found it. Miss those and you come off the list.

What you can expect

  • A real person on the phone, at any hour
  • An honest read on whether it is urgent
  • A written price before work begins
  • Shoe covers and drop cloths inside the house
  • The old part shown to you, not binned quietly
  • A return visit coordinated if something is not right

What we will not do

  • Quote a repair sight-unseen over the phone
  • Add fees after the number is agreed
  • Let anyone sell a repipe when a section repair holds
  • Push a tankless unit onto a house that cannot feed it
  • Allow drywall to be cut before you have approved it
  • Leave a job half-open over a weekend
Vetting, in detail

Nobody reaches your house without clearing this list

Anyone can print a magnet and call themselves a plumber. In California the work involved in gas lines, sewer laterals and water services is licensed for a reason, so the first thing we check is the licence, on the state board, not on a business card.

Insurance is next: active general liability, and workers’ compensation where a crew is involved. Certificates go to property managers and commercial clients on request. Where the city requires a permit, the job gets one; we do not place work with anyone who offers to skip it to save a fee.

Then it is conduct. Written quotes before work, clean sites, plain explanations, and a phone that gets answered on the callback. We keep notes on every job we arrange, and a pattern of complaints ends the relationship rather than earning a warning.

The standard, on the record

  • Active California (CSLB) licence, state-verifiedRequired
  • General liability cover in forceRequired
  • Workers’ compensation where crewedRequired
  • Written quote before work startsEvery job
  • Permits pulled where the city requiresNo exceptions
  • Pattern of complaintsOff the list

Questions before you call

What people ask about how we work

Our own office, staffed by people who live in southeast Los Angeles County. It is not an out-of-state call centre and it is not an automated intake. The person who takes your details is the person who works out who is closest and free, and the plumbing work itself is carried out by the licensed professional we put on the job.

Yes, and we verify it rather than take their word for it. Every professional on our list holds an active California contractor licence plus general liability cover, and we re-check both. Ask to see the licence card at the door; anyone we send expects that question.

For active emergencies (a burst line, sewage backing up, no water in the house) we aim for same-day and usually much sooner inside Norwalk itself. For non-urgent work we will typically offer a next-day window. The honest answer varies with the hour and how many jobs are already open, and we will give you a real estimate on the phone rather than a comfortable one.

Any diagnostic or call-out fee is confirmed with you on the phone before anyone is on the way, so there is no surprise at the door. Either way you get the diagnosis and a written price before work starts, and you are free to decline.

Twenty-four hours a day, every day, including weekends and holidays. Plumbing failures do not observe business hours and neither does the phone.

Commercial property? See commercial plumbing for what that covers.

Call the same number and ask for our customer relations desk. We coordinate the return visit, we hold the written quote and job notes on file, and homeowner feedback is the main input into who stays on our list. Getting it sorted through us is faster than chasing it yourself.

Still not sure whether your problem is our kind of problem? It probably is. Ask.Call (562) 358-3351
